Off the Grid has recently debuted, bringing street food to parts of the city “with little to no existing street food options.” That’s us! We checked it out on Friday. The area was a little smaller than we’d expected, and at 6:30 there was a crowd and lines at all of the vendors, but nothing too crazy. On the plus side, OTG seemed to attract a pretty mixed crowd: cool kids, families (not that those two groups are mutually exclusive), couples, cyclists, people with hats, people with tattoos, etc.

Here on the west coast the early World Cup games begin at 7am. As a result, you might find yourself touring some of the city’s fine watering holes before work, drinking bad coffee, and making new friends.

(Yes, true, they do have tvs showing the early games at the gym. And there are guys wearing headbands there too.)
